History of KVK Sindhudurg

Brigadier Sudhir Sawant former Member of Parliament (MP) is very well known personality in Socio – political circle in India. He is great authority, interest and expertise in the field of Defence, Military, Military Intelligence, Politics, Education, Agriculture, International Terrorism, Corruption, and Natural Farming. He is a founder chairman of KVK Sindhudurg. During the tenure of MP under his own idea and leadership he has organised Sea Voyage (Sagari Yatra) from Musa Kazi to Reddy in Sindhudurg in 1995. The former Central Agricultural Minister Shri Balaram Jakad has invited as a chief guest during the concluding programme of Sagari Yatra at Reddy. In this programme Shri Balaram Jakad has announced the KVK in Sindhudurg under the special demand from Brigadier Sudhir Sawant. Initially the kvk has started under the NGO Poip Adarsh Krishi Phalotpadan vikas Sahakari Sanstha, Poip during the year 1996. Later on kvk is shifted at village Kirlos under the NGO Sindhudurg Zilha Krishi Pratisthan during the year 1998. Under the Chairmanship of Brigadier Sudhir Sawant KVK has completed 25 years of tenure and celebrated Silver Jubilee year during the February, 2022 Also the Brigadier Sudhir Sawant is a founder of the innovative and unique project, ‘A Village of Joy & Abundance’ with the bright vision to develop the India into a place of Joy and Abundance. He has taken footsteps to improve the standard of living, enrich social capital and build community spirit. That will ensure long term positive change holistic development and sustainability. He have great mission to war against black economy, fight against terrorism, national integration, implementation of the constitution, national security, youth development, clean politics, alternative energy, rural economy and education . He is a pioneer in implementation of Natural Farming movement at national level. He is actively involved in agricultural development by establishing the NGO Sindhudurg Zilha Krishi Pratishthan and Welfare of Ex army men with Jay Jawan Jay Kisan.
